The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association and participating businesses have always been strong supporters of local events and people. The merchants are committed to growing Evanston by supporting other local businesses and by making a positive contribution to the community. Listed below are some of the activities that the Downtown Merchants are currently engaged in.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS - 2009
February 14th Snowball Saturday Sale
Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members are
encouraged to participate in this event by offering sales
and/or specials.
May 23rd & 24th Evanston Downtown Clean-Up
Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members are encouraged to participate in the downtown clean-up event.
Please wash your windows, sweep your sidewalks, clean
your tree pits, plant flowers and beautify your store front.
June – AugustLate Night Shopping – Thursday Nights
Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members are
encouraged to participate in this event by offering sales
and/or specials every Thursday night from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
June 26th Movie on the Wall
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members
are encouraged to be open during the movie hours.
July 11thTaste of Evanston
Members of the Evanston Downtown Merchants are
encouraged to volunteer for this event and to open during
the event. Please contact Dawn Darby or Joy Walton at
789-1362 if you are interested in volunteering in some
capacity.
July 24th Movie on the Wall
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members
are encouraged to be open during the movie hours.
July 31st & Evanston Downtown Merchants Annual Sidewalk Sale
August 1st This event will be held in conjunction with the Roundhouse
Festival at the Machine Shop. The Evanston Downtown
Merchants Association members are encouraged to be open
and offering sales and specials to customers.
They are also encouraged to put displays out for sidewalk sale.
August 20th Back to School Night
Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members are
encouraged to participate in this event by offering sales
and/or specials from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
August 28th Movie on the Wall
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members
are encouraged to be open during the movie hours.
October 15thHunter’s Widow Night
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association
members are encouraged to be open and
offer sales and specials to customers. This event will
focus on women while their husbands are hunting.
October 31st Trick Or Treat Street
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association members
are encouraged to participate and hand out candy to the
trick or treater’s between 3:30 and 5:00 PM.
December 3rd Downtown Open House/Lighted Christmas Parade
The Evanston Downtown Merchants Association
members are encouraged to be open and offer sales
and specials to customers. This event is held in conjunction
with the Evanston Jaycees Lighted Christmas Parade which
brings the community downtown for this holiday season
kick-off.
December 12thTeddy Bear Parade
This event brings people downtown to participate in a
parade that runs from the old Strand Theatre to the Uinta
County Complex. Santa will be attending and will read
to the children in attendance.
